Liz Lake Associates was asked to assist in landscape design for the creation of a new Adventure Golf Centre adjacent to an existing Golf Driving Range near Kingston-upon-Thames. This leisure scheme needed sensitive integration with the adjacent driving range and parking areas to create a new and exciting family-friendly visitor attraction.
With extensive experience of working on leisure projects, Liz Lake Associates decided to create a landscape master plan which set out our vision for this exciting development. The concept was a simple one: to create year-round interest whilst giving a feeling of enclosure suited to the proposed “prehistoric” nature of the course. Once this was approved, Liz Lake Associates produced a detailed planting plan to assist the client in satisfying relevant stringent planning conditions. As the plans were also being used for construction purposes, we ensured a robust approach so that the scheme had instant impact and appeal to users of all ages.
The scheme now been implemented has become a national attraction. Planting has encapsulated a variety of interesting plants, ferns and grasses to give the course a distinct “prehistoric” feel. We are continuing to monitor the planting and improve this where necessary to ensure the popularity continues.
