Watford House is a large period property set in extensive grounds in Westmill. The client wanted to enhance the property by creating a paddock area to the rear, increasing the size of the rear garden and improving the front garden with turning head and water feature. This led to a number of planning conditions which needed to be satisfied, Liz Lake Associates were able to advise the client how best to achieve this.
Having created outline designs that dealt with all the tree protection issues and complex ground-level changes, we gained a detailed knowledge of the site. The client also recognised the benefit of asking us to continue with the detailed design proposals for the paddock and the hard and soft landscape for the front of the property.
Working closely with the owner, architect, plant supplier and contractor, we were able to oversee the implementation of the front garden proposals. We are currently finishing the sketch scheme for the rear garden and drawing up ongoing maintenance plans to be submitted for planning approval.
