War Memorials Trust
The War Memorials Trust works for the protection and conservation of war memorials in the UK. They provide advice and information and run grant schemes for the repair and conservation of war memorials. In the lead up to and during the centenary of World War I in 2014, War Memorials Trust anticipates that the landscapes associated with memorial structures will be prime candidates for local projects. Liz Lake Associates was delighted to be asked to prepare landscape guidance to inform projects and give suggestions for best practice in conserving and enhancing these important heritage landscape sites for future generations.

The project involved Liz Lake Associates working with specialist advisors including English Heritage, Historic Scotland, The Garden History Society, Tim Moya Associates (arboriculturists) and Susan Deakin Ecology, in conjunction with the War Memorials Trust. Drawing on its heritage landscape expertise, Liz Lake Associates managed the project, structuring and writing the guidance and bringing all of the text and images together with graphic design presentation.
