Tasked with producing a sketch design scheme for a private garden in Stansted Mountfitchet, Liz Lake Associates began by meeting the client to discuss their brief and requirements for the garden. Various sketch proposals were then developed for review to understand what the client liked and disliked.
After this a more developed scheme was prepared. This incorporated two phases of design, separating the front drive and rear garden. The scheme utilised the existing trees and the clients passion for uncommon tree species to use these as the structural basis of the scheme. Three separate seating areas were included, each with their own distinct character, viewpoints and periods of the day in sunlight. Pleached trees were specified in strategic locations to screen neighbouring properties and to provide enclosure to the garden.
Liz Lake Associates also provided recommendations for suitable and reliable contractors to implement the scheme.
