Liz Lake Associates were commissioned by Crest Nicholson to prepare detailed landscape proposals for the residential scheme of 131 dwellings located on the southern edge of Maldon town in Essex. The landscape lead masterplan focused on a central open space corridor, maximising doorstep recreation opportunities for residents. Substantial new tree planting and areas of meadow grassland throughout the scheme, delivered both a vibrant sense of place and ecological enhancements to the local landscape character.

As well as detailed landscape design, Liz Lake Associates also undertook a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment of the proposals, which formed a key part of the full planning application submission. Since completion, Liz Lake Associates have conducted a Landscape Implementation Audit to assess the quality and accuracy of implementation.
