Nature conservation is an integral part of the landscape design process. As chartered landscape architects, we draw on our experience in this field, we offer comprehensive guidance to help clients comply with legislation. We regularly liaise and negotiate with authorities in London, Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and beyond to provide environmentally sustainable solutions for habitat creation and management.
Essential to the process is the initial Joint Nature Conservation Committee Phase 1 Survey which provides target notes identifying where more detailed survey is required. This informs the design solution and the landscape and biodiversity strategies for the site. We also help clients to contribute to local and national Biodiversity Action Plan objectives and to gain credits in the BREEAM criteria for sustainability in construction.
