HERITAGE LANDSCAPES

Liz Lake Associates has worked on over fifty heritage landscape schemes, particularly with the Debois Landscape Survey Group. These have ranged from pure restoration projects for public authorities to Inheritance Tax Exemption schemes and agri-environment projects for private owners. We also have experience of integrating new development in historic parks such as Bentley Priory, Danbury Palace, St Osyth Priory.

From historic gardens to historic landscapes, all such projects require archival research and a thorough assessment of the existing features that remain on the ground. We provide an evaluation of the significance of the heritage assets and strategies for prioritising the clearance of inappropriate features. Our experience of effective heritage landscape design also includes the rebuilding of structures, new planting and the appropriate management of historic landscape.
