EXPERTS WITH A 33 YEAR HISTORY
We are landscape architects, urban designers and landscape planners.
At Liz Lake Associates, we are landscape architects, urban designers and landscape planners. Our designers are very aware that with the growing interest in our environment, the desire for high-quality and well-planned outside spaces has never been greater. From public parks to private gardens, and from town squares to office schemes, elegant, inspiring and safe places provide a positive and lasting benefit to our quality of life. No matter how large or small the project, our approach is a holistic one. From the outset, we come with a fresh vision, taking a broad view to assess the context and challenges, looking for local inspiration, devising a strategic, sustainable approach and proposing creative solutions. At all times we are mindful of the financial, and sometimes emotional, investment of the client. Every scheme begins with a site visit. The team at Liz Lake Associates will then work with clients to develop the brief and explore the creative and planning scope of the scheme stage by stage. We will anticipate local planning and environmental requirements, identify the necessary surveys and reports that will be required, negotiate with all interested parties, draw up plans and if needed take them through the planning process. We can produce a full and accurate budget report and propose realistic time schedules to see the project to completion. Landscape planners at Liz Lake Associates help developers and private individuals to prepare the larger scale projects for planning submissions by providing, thorough baseline studies, measures for mitigation and impartial and dispassionate Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments. We also work for objectors to development proposals, using our skills to assess the veracity and appropriateness of assessments. Liz Lake Associates frequently acts as an expert witness at public inquiry for ecological, landscape and visual issues for both promoters and objectors. Our practice is small enough to offer individual attention from highly experienced professionals, and large enough to offer a comprehensive range of skills for the largest and most complex schemes.
We are always willing to discuss opportunities with interested people who share a commitment to our approach and would like to further their careers. This could initially take the form of an informal discussion or the submission of your CV with examples of work, either by email or post. The Practice is committed to promoting the professions of landscape architecture, urban design, landscape planning, ecology and arboriculture. We are always keen to hear from interested students or graduates who wish to develop a career in our core disciplines, and we can offer help by providing advice and identifying any suitable employment opportunities. The Practice maintains contact with various universities, and notifies them of specific opportunities.
