Brief
Our client Barratt North London already had a planning permission for 530 new houses when Liz Lake Associates was appointed to the consultant team. Our brief was to redesign the key public-realm open-space areas as part of a new uplift planning application for 750 dwellings.
Approach
We reviewed the landscape design for the approved 530 dwellings scheme and looked at how it could be re-designed in a more compelling way to justify the uplift of units for the site. Key to this approach was a redesign of the central focal fountain, Circus Open Space, which will provide an inclusive and attractive area for residents and the public.
Outcome
This uplift planning application was successful and construction is underway.
