Michelle is a senior associate with particular responsibility for landscape planning work. She is an experienced expert witness who has prepared landscape and visual evidence for appeal, local plan and call-in inquiries. She has been praised for the thoroughness of her evidence, the clarity of her arguments and her composure under cross-examination. Her expert witness work has included giving evidence on behalf of Daventry District Council at a conjoined inquiry in relation to three sites proposed for urban extensions. Michelle has developed a particular expertise in the assessment of wind energy projects and has given evidence on behalf of both local planning authorities and local action groups. She also has experience in the assessment of the impact of development proposals on the setting of Heritage Assets.
Michelle was responsible for co-writing the Practice Methodology on landscape and visual impact assessment and for preparing and delivering training seminars on this subject. She was a speaker at a recent course run by Oxford University Department of Continuing Education in association with English Heritage on current approaches to the Setting of Heritage Assets and Places.
