Fishing Lakes

With fishing now one of Britain’s most popular sports, the demand for new and interesting facilities is on the increase. Our practice has prepared several proposals for both coarse and fly-fishing projects.

Because so many statutory bodies have an interest, lake development can be complicated, however, we have the expertise to see projects through to the day when the first line is cast.

Projects have involved negotiations with authorities including:

  • County councils for mineral extraction or new highway access,
  • The Environment Agency for water extraction and stocking,
  • The independent drainage boards for local approvals,
  • Natural England for work near sites of nature conservation interest,
  • Local planning authorities for permission to create lakes and build associated facilities, such as toilets or a ticket office
