This conference considered the currently much debated (contentious?) issue of how to asses the impact of Wind Turbine Development on the setting of heritage assets. Landscape and heritage professionals, both within the wind energy industry and within local planning authorities, are looking for a clearer definition of setting.
Exploring the issues from the perspectives of conservation, development, landscape, history and the law it was a lively day, addressing controversial issues. Speakers included planning barrister, Tina Douglass; John Phibbs Landscape Historian, George Lambrick Archaeology and Heritage consultant and Michelle Bolger, Landscape Architect from LiZLaKe.
Michelle's paper on who should be assessing the impact can be downloaded here and all the papers given at the conference are available to download below next to the speakers name (not all speakers have a paper to download).
