Julia and Nikki would like to thank Saffron Waldon Arts Trust for the use of their exhibition boards and The Sylvia Adams Trust for the use of an empty office in Western House both of which made the whole event possible. There are also a whole load of other thank you's because the community of Stansted Mountfitchet showed their true colours and both supported us with posters, flowers, financial contributions and came through the doors on the weekend of 27th -28th March in much larger numbers than we had hoped for.
'What about the art work?' we hear you ask. We had a select few contributors made up of members of staff, local professional artists and family and friends. In all around 50 pieces of art work in a huge variety of styles and mediums, making it both interesting and surprising. One visitor was heard to declare ' not your usual bunnies and flowers!'
We had a visit from the local press who also declared it made a pleasant change from being on the side of a cold wet playing field to take photos; [article]
One of the common questions over the weekend was 'who are/is LiZLaKe?' and 'what does a Landscape Architect do?' Julia and Nikki would like to thank Liz for her support in helping to make the event happen and we hope that the local village and visiting art enthusiasts now know a little more about LiZLaKe Chartered Landscape Architects and we have tempted a few potentials to think about becoming a Landcape Architect.
Finally we have a photo of Laura Holland from Cancer Research UK who came to collect the money and gave her thanks for all ours and your support in raising such a grand total for a really worth while cause.
