The Galleries

A Grade II listed former Victorian asylum, The Galleries is currently being converted into 130 high quality residential apartments. The design philosophy was to give each of the eight courtyard spaces created by the building form a distinct character while maintaining a harmonious feel to the overall proposals. Two enclosed courtyards were restored close to the historic design and the remainder are to be contemporary in style creating a sensitive, yet stunning landscape to surround these important historic buildings. The restored courtyards won the 2007 Gold Award for the Best Restored Garden of the Daily Express New Homes and Gardens Awards.
